How does the caffeine tracker work?

The caffeine tracker estimates your daily intake based on the shots you log. It assumes ~63mg per shot (standard for espresso) or ~135mg for double shots. Decaf beans are automatically excluded.

Where's my data stored?

Everything stays on your device in local storage. We don't have servers, accounts or any way to see your data. Note: if you clear your browser data or browsing history, your shots will be deleted too. Always export your data to keep a backup.

How do I back up my data?

Export as JSON (full backup) or CSV (for spreadsheets) from Profile → Export & Import. Save the file to your cloud storage (iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox) so you never lose your shot history.

Can I move my data between devices?

Yes! Go to Profile → Export & Import to download your shots and beans as JSON. Then on your other device, use Import backup and select the file. This works across phones, tablets and computers - no account needed.

Is there a shot timer?

Yes. The built-in extraction timer lets you tap to start when you engage the pump and tap to stop when you hit your target yield. The time is automatically saved with your shot.

What is drink type tracking?

When you log a shot, you can tag it as espresso, cappuccino, latte, flat white or another drink type. Jarvis uses this to give you smarter advice based on your drink preferences.

Can I freeze my beans?

Yes. Tap the snowflake icon on any bean to freeze it. This pauses freshness aging so the roast age stops counting. When you thaw the bean, the age picks up where it left off.

A world map in your Beans tab that fills in as you try coffees from different countries. It's a visual record of your coffee journey across origins.

When you add a bag price to a bean, the app calculates your cost per shot based on your average dose. It also shows grams remaining and estimated shots left in the bag.

Jarvis analyses your shot history for a specific bean and suggests grind, dose and yield adjustments before you brew. The more shots you log, the more accurate the predictions become.

What is per-grinder step size?

Each grinder in your equipment profile has its own step size setting. When the app suggests going one step finer or coarser, it uses your grinder's actual increment so the advice is practical.
